K-5 Soccer League
General Information
A fun, recreational, co-ed league. Our goal is for the kids to learn a few things about soccer and good sportsmanship and to have a great time playing with their classmates. The teams are small and have volunteer parent coaches. We are always in need of coaches so please sign up if you can help. It’s the only way our league can run.
• Who can play? There are 3 divisions - The Lower Division for students in K and 1st grade; The Mid Division for students in 2nd and 3rd grades; and The Upper Division (dependent on sign-ups and volenteer coaches) for students in 4th grade and 5th grade . The Upper Division also requires volunteer referees (if you know any high school/college students looking for volunteer hours for the year we got ‘em!).
• When are practices and games? The first practice is Wednesday, September 10th. Practices last approximately 60 minutes and will be on
Wednesdays at 3:00pm, 4:00pm, or 5:00pm (Note: Start times depend on coaches’ availability). Games are on Fridays and will start at 4:15pm or 5:15pm. See the complete schedule below.
• How much does it cost to register? The registration fee is $90 per player (Volunteering coaches will have 1 player fee waived). The fee includes a player jersey, a team and individual picture, and an end of season party. Players must purchase their own shin guards (soccer cleats are optional). • Where are practices and games? All practices and games take place on the school fields next to the Biltmore Prep playground.
• Are there volunteer opportunties? YES!! Coaches - We alwas need volunteer parent coaches and would like 2 coaches per team. No ll practices and games take place on the school fields next to the Biltmore Prep playground. No experience is required - all you need is the desire to get out there with the kiddos and have fun! We also provide equipment (soccer balls and 2 pop-up goals for each coach). Field Assistants - These volunteer parents will help set up the goals and mark the field lines on game days (3pm). This is such an important job – please sign up to help! Referees for the Upper Division - The Upper Division requires volunteer referees (if you know any high school/college students looking for volunteer hours for the year we got ‘em!). All of these opportunities count towards the volunteer hour requirement, so be sure to sign up and log those hours!
